Over the past few months, speculation increased — then died down — that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was planning to make a third run for the presidency in 2024.
But now, speculation is ramping up once more after the Clintons announced this week they will be ramping up the Clinton Global Initiative again.
The Associated Press reported:
The Clinton Foundation is planning another Clinton Global Initiative – a high-profile gathering of business, political and philanthropic leaders – this September in New York, according to a letter former President Bill Clinton sent to the foundation’s supporters Friday.
The initiative, which began meeting annually in 2005 and boasted speakers ranging from former presidents Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter to celebrity philanthropists like Bono and Ben Affleck, ended in 2016 during former Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, when questions were raised about the appearance of potential conflicts of interests if donors then had business before Hillary Clinton’s administration.
“Bill Clinton just announced the Clinton Global Initiative is coming back online and that is all the confirmation we need that Hillary is running,” Human Events editor Jack Posobiec said.

In the letter, the former president said that the “kind of cooperation and coordination,” that he said happened when the initiative first launched in 2005, “has never been more urgent than it is now.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic has ripped the cover off of longstanding inequities and vulnerabilities across our global community. The existential threat of climate change grows every day. Democracy is under assault around the world, most glaringly in Ukraine where Russia has launched an unjustified and unprovoked invasion that has put millions of lives in grave danger,” the former president said.
“The number of displaced people and refugees worldwide is higher than it has ever been—more than one in 95 of all people alive on the planet today has been forced to flee their home—and rising. And it seems that all across the globe, people are pulling away from those who are different from them—putting our future at greater risk and making it harder to solve the challenges and seize the opportunities in front of us,” he added.
Former Hawaii Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard continued her war of words against Hillary Clinton, whom she unsuccessfully ran against for her party’s 2016 presidential nomination, following a bombshell filing last month by John Durham.
Gabbard responded to the special counsel’s allegations that Clinton’s campaign contracted with a tech firm to “infiltrate” servers at Trump Tower and later President Donald Trump’s White House in an attempt to create a Russian collusion scandal.
“The Durham investigation has shown that the biggest threat to our democracy is not some foreign country, but rather the Power Elite led by the likes of Hillary Clinton and her co-conspirators in the mainstream media & security states who work to undermine our democracy from within,” Gabbard tweeted on Tuesday.
