Top-rated podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan ripped CNN on Thursday during an interview with guest James Lindsay, the founder of New Discourses.
Left-wing CNN has plummeted in the ratings, Rogan intimated, because their coverage has become “preposterous” and the network “disseminate[s] propaganda” with smugness.
“They have to know they destroyed their business,” Rogan said to Lindsay.
“The thing about the 90 percent drop in the ratings last year, they want to say it’s because of scandals,” the podcast host continued, in reference to a pair of CNN producers who were either charged or are being investigated for sex crimes related to minors.
But Rogan said that’s not why the network’s ratings have cratered.
“Most people don’t know that, though, most people aren’t aware of it,” he said. “It’s not just that [their programming] sucks, it’s that it’s preposterous.”
“It’s also the smugness in which they disseminate propaganda,” Rogan added. “People know that they’re full of s***, and they’re doing it with a smugness and it turns people off. It would turn people off even if they were accurate.”
CNN’s coverage also shows “an extreme lack of understanding of human nature,” he argued.
Rogan also noted that CNN’s hosts and guests have talked about “shaming people” who don’t follow COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
“What are you f***ing saying? You’re on the ‘news’ and you’re talking about shaming people?” Rogan explained.
Lindsay added that in his view, CNN has “no credibility left.”

Rogan famously battled with the left-wing network over their coverage of the host taking doctor-prescribed Ivermectin to help fight COVID-19. CNN mocked Rogan for taking “horse dewormer.”
Notably, CNN contributor Mary Katharine Ham publicly hit her own network for being “dishonest” in their coverage of Rogan taking the medication.
“Rogan is right that it’s dishonest to say he took horse dewormer when he did not,” she tweeted, in reference to CNN coverage.

“It was irresistible to dunk on him for a lot of people, so they went with that instead of sticking to ‘hey, this anti-parasitic isn’t recommended for COVID treatment,’ which would’ve been credible,” she added.
Responding to Ham, CNN political editor John Daniel Davidson said, “Well, it WAS recommended by Rogan’s doctor, so that also wouldn’t be credible,” he wrote. “And it’s not like Rogan’s doc is the only one in the country recommending Ivermectin off-label. The MOST they could have said, credibly, is that the CDC doesn’t recommend it.”
“Agreed, I’m not looking to explicate the entire Ivermectin fight in one tweet,” Ham answered. “That was shorthand for a pronouncement that would have been more suitable than ‘he’s taking horse dewormer,’ which is just straight, well, horses***.”
“I’m happy for folks to take it safely & half expect there may end up being better data later on,” she added.
