Trump Cancels Jan. 6 Speaking Event After Getting Some Advice

Former President Donald Trump had planned to give an address on the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, but he called it off on Wednesday.

Trump has changed his plans after speaking with friends — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Fox News host Laura Ingraham, according to a report.

“In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona—It will be a big crowd!” he said, Mediaite reported.

“What has become more and more obvious to ALL is that the LameStream Media will not report the facts that Nancy Pelosi and the Capitol Sergeant-at-Arms denied requests for the D.C. National Guard or Military to be present at the Capitol. Their emails and correspondence with the Department of Defense exist, but the media won’t ask for this evidence, or report the truth!” Trump added.

“This is the Democrats’ Great Cover-Up Committee and the Media is complicit. Why did Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff forge and change the statement of Congressman Jim Jordan without any consequence?” he continued.

“Why will Crazy Nancy Pelosi not provide her communications with the House Sergeant-at-Arms and the House Chief Administrative Officer, or promise to retain these vital messages, which many feel she has already destroyed—perhaps illegally?” Trump added.

“Also, why is the primary reason for the people coming to Washington D.C., which is the fraud of the 2020 Presidential Election, not the primary topic of the Unselect Committee’s investigation? This was, indeed, the Crime of the Century,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing our Great American patriots in Arizona next weekend for a big rally to Save America!” he continued.

The report added:

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) confirmed to Axios that he recommended in a recent golf outing with Trump that the press conference be canceled.

“Graham said Trump brought up the subject and the senator told him ‘there could be peril in doing a news conference,’” Jonathan Swan writes. “‘Best to focus on election reform instead.’”

From there, the report focuses on Ingraham, whose January 6th comments have drawn great interest lately due to revelations that she and her Fox News colleagues begged for Trump to call off his rioting supporters a year ago. As she spoke to Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Jim Banks (R-IN) on Monday, Ingraham telegraphed that Trump’s upcoming press conference was ill-advised.

“Some things were horrific that happened and shouldn’t have happened that day,” Ingraham said to Banks. “Is it smart for President Trump to do a rally on that particular day, versus next week or the week before?”

The former president will be holding his rally on January 15 in Florence, Ariz.

Earlier this week, Trump released a significant statement previewing how he plans to go after President Biden.

“More cases of COVID-19, sometimes referred to as the China Virus, are recorded in the U.S. today than ever before—not even close, and the Fake News Media refuses to print the real numbers. Do you remember when the Democrats campaign was based on the fact that they would quickly and easily get rid of the China Virus?” he said.

“Their whole campaign was a lie from Religion, to the Border, to the Military, to the Economy, to Inflation, to the loss of Energy Independence and, of course, most embarrassing of all, to the inept, grossly incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan. All of those things, together with the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election, are the REAL BIG LIE!” Trump said.
