Trump Rails at Barr After ‘Bulls**t’ Election Comment, Calls Former AG ‘Disappointment’, ‘Weak’

(USA Features) Former President Donald Trump ripped William Barr following published comments over the weekend that the former attorney general allegedly called Trump’s election claims “bulls**t.”

Barr’s comment was included in a new book, “Betrayal,” set for release by ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Carl, who indicated that the then-attorney general pushed back on requests from the former administration to look into Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud.

“Instead of doing his job, he did the opposite and told people within the Justice Department not to investigate the election,” Trump said in a statement issued late Sunday night, reported.

“Just like he did with the Mueller report and the cover up of Crooked Hillary and RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA, they don’t want to investigate the real facts,” he added.

“Bill Barr’s weakness helped facilitate the cover up of the Crime of the Century, the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!” Trump wrote, adding that at a former attorney general, Barr “shouldn’t be speaking about the president.”

In an excerpt of the book published by The Atlantic, Karl said that the relationship between Barr and Trump deteriorated greatly following the election when the then-president was making his claims that the election was stolen from him.

“My attitude was: It was put-up or shut-up time,” Barr reportedly told the ABC correspondent.

“If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it,” Barr said. “But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bull****.”

Continuing his statement on Sunday, Trump described Barr as a “RINO” who had “let down the American people.” And he added that he did not believe the former attorney general led a sufficient investigation into allegations of corruption surrounding the then-Democratic nominee Biden and his son Hunter.

“Now it was revealed that Barr was being pushed to tell lies about the election by Mitch McConnell, another beauty, who was worried about damaging the Republicans chances in the Georgia runoff,” Trump said.

“What really damaged the Senate Republicans was allowing their races to be rigged and stolen, and worse, the American people to no longer believe their vote matters because spineless RINOs like Bill Barr and Mitch McConnell did nothing,” Trump added.

Several states have moved to strengthen voter integrity laws in the wake of the 2020 election, requiring stricter IDs and regulating early voting more closely.

“They used COVID in order to cheat. They used COVID in order to rig the election and in order to steal the election. They used COVID,” Trump said at one point during his first campaign rally for GOP candidates in Ohio Saturday. “That’s as simple as it gets.”
