Nunes says Democrats likely to concoct new ‘hoax’ to ensnare Trump after impeachment failure

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said in an interview Monday he believes the Democrat majority will once again craft a new “hoax” narrative that will ultimately be used to again try to remove him from office.

The former Intelligence Committee chairman said that the effort could being with former National Security Adviser John Bolton, noting that whatever the committee’s Democrat majority come up with, it will be echoed by most of the media.

“Well, I’d say that old habits die hard,” Nunes said. “They’ve done nothing else for their entire time that they’ve controlled Congress and, don’t forget, the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee started this right after Trump was elected, so that’s going over three years.

Continuing, Nunes said he isn’t “sure that they actually know how to do anything else because, for the most — for all practical purposes, the Intelligence Committee in the House isn’t really meeting,” Nunes added.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is currently chairman of the Intelligence Committee. He was also named by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as one of the House’s impeachment managers.

“So my guess is they’re going to start with John Bolton, maybe others,” Nunes added in an with Fox News. “They may concoct a new — a new hoax.

“I’m not sure that, you know, that — that the American people will believe it. But you can be sure of one thing: The mainstream media will support whatever it is the narrative is that they want to build,” he added.
