More Kamala Harris Staffers Bail, One Less Than Four Months on the Job

Vice President Kamala Harris continues to have difficulty retaining staff amid rumors and reports that her management style is horrendous and chaotic.

According to a report on Friday, Harris’ director of speechwriting is reportedly bailing on her — the same day that one of the VP’s closest aides also left her office.

The Daily Wire notes:

Two people familiar with the matter reportedly told POLITICO that Meghan Groob, the vice president’s director of speech writing, will be departing from her role. She was first hired in April, according to the publication, and previously worked for Bill Gates as a speechwriter.

Her departure comes as Harris repeatedly takes heat for repetitive or evasive public remarks, dubbed by some critics as “word salad.”

The Washington Post also reported Friday that Rohini Kosoglu, one of Harris’ closest and longest-serving aides, is also departing her office.

Kosoglu, who previously served as the VP’s chief of staff in the Senate as well as on her short-lived presidential campaign, pushed back on the notion she was leaving due to staff instability. Rather, she claimed she wants to spend more time with family.

“It’s been six years, and she understands that my family’s very much looking forward to this time, and that I will always be here should she need any trusted information or counsel,” Kosoglu told the Post of Harris. “Even through this time period, she’s been an invaluable source of support and guidance to me to come to this decision.”

The Daily Wire adds:

At least 13 staffers have left Harris since summer 2021: the vice president’s chief of staff Tina Flournoy, national security advisor Nancy McEldowney, and deputy chief of staff Michael Fuchs all left the administration this spring after several of Harris’ top aides departed last year (including chief spokeswoman Symone Sanders), WaPo reported.

In late May, Politico additionally reported that a large number of black White House staffers had departed or planned to depart from President Joe Biden’s administration since late last year, describing a White House that does not support them or offer them good promotion opportunities.

According to a book released in May, Harris reportedly gets angry when White House staffers do not rise to their feet when she comes into the room.

According to the Independent Journal Review:

That’s one of the bizarre revelations from the book “This Will Not Pass,” co-authored by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns.

The duo appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday to discuss some disturbing findings from their research, which exposes the deep fissures between Harris and President Joe Biden’s aides.

Host Chuck Todd recounted: “Here’s one anecdote you have: ‘Harris worried that Biden’s staff looked down on her; she fixated on real and perceived snubs in ways the West Wing found tedious.

“‘When Harris walked into a room, the White House staff did not stand up the way they did for Biden. The vice president took it as a sign of disrespect.’”

Todd went on to express shock that the White House actually held a meeting to discuss the issue after Harris demonstrated her fury at Biden’s staff for failing to be subservient enough.

“What was astonishing here is apparently, there was a meeting about this,” Todd said.

“Yes,” Martin replied. “The chief of staff to Kamala Harris telephoned the West Wing and told a senior adviser in the West Wing to Biden, ‘The VP has noticed this and she would like folks to stand — staff members to stand — when she enters the room.’”

The author continued: “This pulls back, I think, the curtain on what this White House is really like. The tensions are deep and they are real between the VP’s office and the West Wing.”

“What is hovering over all of this, Chuck, is ’24,” Martin said. “Is Biden going to run again? And if not, is it going to be VP Harris?”

“That is the mood music hanging over the entire Democratic Party right now, as are Biden’s poor numbers.”
