Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used inflammatory language to lash out against three U.S. Supreme Court justices following their decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In an interview Sunday on NBC’s Meet The Press, anchor Chuck Todd set the New York Democrat up by asking if she believes the House Judiciary Committee “should begin the process of an investigation” into Justices Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett for allegedly lying under oath during their confirmation hearings.
“If we allow supreme court nominees to lie under or under oath and secure lifetime appointments to the highest court of the land and then issue, without basis, if you read these opinions, issue without basis, rulings that deeply undermine the human and civil rights of the majority of Americans we must see that through,” ‘AOC’ claimed.
“There must be consequences for such a deeply stabilizing action and hostile takeover of our democratic institutions. To allow that to stand is to allow it to happen,” she said.
“And what makes it particularly dangerous is that it sends a blaring signal to all future nominees that they can now lie to duly elected members of the United States Senate in order to secure Supreme Court confirmations,” she added.
Chuck Todd continued to tee up Ocasio-Cortez: “Do you think lying at a confirmation hearing is an impeachable offense?”
“I believe so. I believe lying under oath is an impeachable offense,” the self-described democratic socialist continued
“I believe that violating federal law and not disclosing income from political organizations as Clarence Thomas did years ago is also potentially an impeachable offense,” she alleged.
“I believe that that not recusing from cases that one clearly has family members involved in with very deep violations of conflict of interest are also impeachable offenses,” she continued.
“And I believe that this is something that should be very seriously considered including by members by senators like Joe Manchin and Susan Collins.”
WATCH:
We have a responsibility to protect our democracy. That includes holding those in power who violate the law accountable.
Without it, rule of law can slip through our hands like sand through loose fingers.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Ocasio-Cortez went at it again on Friday following the SCOTUS ‘Roe’ ruling.
The Georgia Republican launched into the New York Democratic socialist, accusing her of trying to incite an insurrection over a decision the latter clearly did not like.
“AOC just launched an insurrection. Any violence and rioting is a direct result of Democrat marching orders,” the Georgia representative said in a tweet that showed a video of Ocasio-Cortez at the Capitol.
In the video, “AOC” is seen chanting with demonstrators who declared that the Supreme Court is “illegitimate,” adding that protesters should go “into the streets.”

“I will explain this to you slowly: exercising our right to protest is not obstruction of Congress nor an attempt to overturn democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez hit back.
“If one were a heinous enough person to do that, they’d likely seek a pardon for it too. But only one of us here has done that. And it ain’t me,” she added.
“How about you explain slowly why you won’t support a pardon for Julian Assange and Edward Snowden,” Taylor Greene responded. “And then continue to explain why you are a shill for the MIC funding war in Ukraine. Or are you too busy organizing baby killing riots?”

“AOC gave the order today in front of the Supreme Court. ‘TAKE TO THE STREETS!’ So did Maxine Waters,” Taylor Green went on.
“And just like that Antifa came out of retirement attacking innocent women. Tell me about women’s rights again,” Green said showing a video of people appearing to attack someone.
