Fox News ‘Primetime’ host Jesse Watters had some fun at Joe Biden’s expense this week after the president dropped a new nickname on his predecessor, former President Donald Trump.
Biden traveled to Chicago to tell the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that inflation was really not his fault before attempting to rebrand Trump by giving him the nickname the “great MAGA king.”
“Under my predecessor — the great MAGA king — the deficit increased every single year he was president. The first year of my presidency, the first year, I reduced the deficit, literally reduced the deficit by $350 billion, first year.
“My Republican colleagues say these programs to help the working class and middle-class people, that, they say, that’s why we have inflation. They’re dead wrong,” Biden continued.
“Right now, the majority of our Republican friends just see things differently. They don’t want to solve inflation just by lowering the cost. They want to solve it by raising taxes and lowering your income. If I didn’t see the actual document, I’d think I was making it up,” Biden added.
Actually, he was making it up: Even the Washington Post’s fact-checker called his claim that Republicans are seeking tax increases “false.”
“The ultra-MAGA Republicans’ proposal puts, here’s what it does, it puts social security, Medicare — this is the Republican plan now, the only one out there — and Medicaid on the chopping block every five years,” Biden said.
After playing a clip of Biden’s comments, Watters responded.
“‘Ultra-MAGA’ sounds like a condom or a beer. Did Hunter come up with that one?” he quipped.
“That’s how Joe Biden views anybody who disagrees with him. Joe can’t run on the issues because he hasn’t gotten any results. So he is trying to rip off the Trump nickname game,” he added.
