President Joe Biden’s political fortunes continue to erode the longer he is in office, as evidenced by another mainstream survey showing tanking support.
According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, Biden’s approval rating has fallen to a new low of 41 percent.
The poll, which was conducted between February 2-3 on 1,005 Americans, asked: “Overall, do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as President[?]”
According to the results, 56% disapproved.
The survey marks the lowest approval and highest disapproval in the regular Reuters/Ipsos poll since Biden’s inauguration, according to The Daily Wire.
Broken down by political affiliation, only 14% of Republicans approved, 34% of Independents approved, and 71% of Democrats approved.
The survey also asked respondents: “[Would] you say things in this country are heading in the right direction, or are they off on the wrong track?”
Eighty-six percent of Republicans and 67% of Independents responded that things are on the “wrong track,” while 41% of Democrats said that things are on the “wrong track,” while 40% of Democrats said that things are heading in the “right direction.”
Some 25 percent of respondents said, “economy, unemployment, and jobs” were the most important issues. Second place with 12% was “public health, disease, and illness.” In third, “crime or corruption” captured 10%.
For Republicans, “immigration” came in second. For Democrats, “public health, disease, and illness,” and “health care system” were neck-and-neck for second and third place. Among Independents, meanwhile, it was a tie between “crime or corruption” and “health care system.”
“Looking at the last ten polls, the president’s approval has been as low as 38%, while his disapproval has seen a high of 59%,” The Daily Wire added.
