Another Poll, More Bad News: Biden’s Approval Keeps Going South

Another new survey indicates that Joe Biden’s presidency is nearing a crisis situation.

As inflation continues to soar amid supply chain issues that have left shelves bare, just 39 percent in a new Havard CAPS/Harris poll give Biden a positive job approval.

“Of that, 18 percent of registered voters said they strongly approve of the job he’s doing, while 21 percent say they somewhat approve. Meanwhile, 53 percent said they somewhat or strongly disapprove of his job performance,” according to the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll, which was  exclusively to The Hill.

“That number is six points down from his approval rating in November, when he was at 45 percent, while his disapproval rating ticked up from 51 percent two months ago. His 39 percent approval rating is the lowest since the poll first started gauging it in March,” the outlet added.

“This is a new low for President Biden as he struggles to solve a myriad of issues from the pandemic and the economy to immigration and crime that trouble the public,” pollster Mark Penn said.

“These numbers should prompt a long-overdue pivot from the White House, but so far, the Biden administration has doubled down on its direction,” Penn continued.

The poll, a collaboration of the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University and the Harris Poll, surveyed 1,815 registered voters was conducted January 19 and 20, The Daily Wire reported.

Biden campaigned last year on a message of unifying the country’s bitter political divisions but his presidency has thus far only made the division worse, according to a September survey.

Fox News reported Sunday that, by a 54-37 percent margin, Americans believe their country is less united under Biden rather than more so.

That said, the same survey found that most respondents think Biden cares about “people like you.”

But that figure was 56 percent in October 2020; the five-point shift is mostly due to a 15-point drop among independents, said the network.

“About half of voters also say Biden has the mental soundness to serve effectively as president (49%, unchanged from 2020) and is honest and trustworthy (50%, down 2 points),” Fox News continued.

“His lowest ratings are on leadership: 45% describe as a strong leader, down from 49% last fall,” the network said, adding: “Biden’s overall job rating stands at 50 percent approve and 49 percent disapprove. Those are the lowest marks of his presidency.”
