A Republican lawmaker weighed into President Joe Biden on Saturday as she blamed the administration for ignoring a still-festering issue that is putting the country’s sovereignty at risk.
In an interview with Fox News, Rep. Kat Cammack of Florida ripped the administration for doing little to address the ongoing illegal migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border while accusing the president of human “trafficking.”
“This is the Where’s Waldo administration. No one can be found. No one wants to take responsibility,” Cammack said.
“You have a border czar and VP Harris who has done close to nothing to stem the flow. You’ve got [DHS] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas who I personally have questioned three times in congressional hearings, who has said that he thinks they’re doing a marvelous job, that the border is secure,” she continued.
“Of course, the data that you just showed again points to the fact that no, the border is not secure, and you cannot have a secure nation unless you have secure borders,” said Cammack.
“And if you don’t have secure borders, you’re not a safe, sovereign nation. And so what we have here is a crisis,” she added.
“It’s a border crisis, as we’ve all seen throughout the year. And what this administration has done is turn every town in America into a border town,” she continued.

“I think at the end of the day, when you take an oath to the United States Constitution, you have to uphold the laws on the books and border security is national security,” the Florida Republican went on.
“The fundamental role of federal government is national security. If the Democrats don’t want to get along with us on that, then that’s on them. But when we have the majority, we will be passing this legislation, sending it to the president’s desk,” she told the network.
“And if he chooses to veto it, then that is on his hands. We know that he is a trafficker in chief. He is leading the trafficking cycle for these cartels,” she said.
Last month, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced that the state had begun constructing its own border wall months after Biden, as one of his first acts in office in January, ordered the Trump-era border wall construction halted.
“Texas has officially started building its own border wall,” Abbott tweeted.
“Biden allows open border policies and refuses to enforce laws passed by Congress to secure the border and enforce immigration laws,” the GOP governor added. “Texas is stepping up to do the federal government’s job.”
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin posted the first pictures on the new boundary on Twitter.

“Texas has officially started building its own border wall. The first wall panels have gone up in Starr County in the RGV. State land, state money. This particular contractor was building Trump’s wall until Biden cancelled them. Now they build for ,” he wrote.
In another update, Melugin noted that the Biden administration will not sell Texas the steel previously purchased to build the border wall under former President Trump.
“The federal government will not sell Texas the steel that was already bought and paid for President Trump’s wall. The metal continues to sit around, going to waste. TX is sourcing its own steel for its border wall,” he posted.
