(USA Features) Mike Lindell, the founder and CEO of the MyPillow brand, pulled all of his company’s advertising from Fox News after network executives refused to run a spot claiming widespread vote fraud occurred during the 2020 election.
In an interview, Lindell, 60, told the Wall Street Journal that he asked the network to run his spot promoting a cyber symposium that he will be live-streaming in August.
Lindell, who is a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, informed the network that the spot will not specifically make claims of election fraud, but that the symposium “will prove the 2020 election was stolen” from Trump.
Fox News officials confirmed with media outlets that it had turned down the commercial spot.
“It’s unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on Fox News given the level of success he’s experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network,” a Fox News spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
Ads for Lindell’s brands were still running on Fox News Thursday evening. It’s not clear at this point when the current ad schedule will expire or whether Lindell plans to pull them sooner.
The brand is one of Fox News’ biggest advertisers, having spent $50 million with the network in 2020, according to data obtained by the Wall Street Journal.
Lindell said that thus far, his company had spent $19 million to air on Fox News thus far in 2021.
According to a flyer advertising the cyber-symposium, Lindell is offering a $5 million prize to anyone who can prove the evidence he plans to present is false.
After balloting on Nov. 3, several legal actions filed by Trump’s campaign failed to produce any evidence of widespread fraud, though the former president continues to make the claim that a “rigged” election cost him victory.
There have been audits of ballots and calls for audits of more ballots since the election, the most prominent among them an analysis of some 2.1 million ballots in Maricopa County, Ariz., that wrapped up this week. Earlier, reports claimed that tens of thousands of ballots were sent out to voters that were not requested, but it’s unclear at this point if the audit team, Cyber Ninjas, actually found any evidence of fraudulent voting.
Lindell has touted a theory that Dominion Voting Machines were programmed to switch votes from Trump to then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, but he has yet to prove the allegations.
In fact, Dominion has filed a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against him that is currently making its way through courts.
But then Lindell counter-sued Dominion for $1.6 billion, doubling down on his claims that the company’s machines were responsible for fraudulent activity.
Reports noted that the cyber symposium will be live-streamed “nonstop” for 72 hours via FrankSpeech.com beginning on Aug. 10.
“Most people are aware that Mike Lindell has ruffled a few feathers. After all, actively questioning the 2020 election results is a serious point of contention,” says the site, according to the Daily Mail.
“Now with a billion-dollar lawsuit with Dominion and millions lost from big name companies pulling his pillows, Mike Lindell has prepared for battle,” the symposium site continued.
“Between the release of hot-button documentaries that expose the problems with the results and gathering information, Mike Lindell is ready to begin his showdown,” it adds.
