Cruz Says Critical Race Theory as ‘Racist’ as the KKK

(USA Features) Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said Friday that the controversial Critical Race Theory curriculum is every bit as “racist” as ideology held by the Ku Klux Klan.

Cruz made his comments to a reporter who asked him about CRT at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference in Orlando. Fla.

“Critical race theory says every white person is a racist,” Cruz said.

“Critical race theory says America is fundamentally racist and irredeemably racist. Critical race theory seeks to turn us against each other,” he continued.

“Critical race theory is bigoted, it is a lie, and it is every bit as racist as the Klansmen in white sheets.”

At least 21 states have introduced legislation to bad teaching the theory or have passed measures barring it, according to The Hill.

A growing number of parents are also pushing back against CRT, railing against the curriculum at school board meetings.

Last week, video of a black father from Illinois went viral on social media after he ripped the curriculum’s premise — that U.S. institutions preserve white supremacy and are racist.

“When you talk about Critical Race Theory, which is pretty much gonna be teaching kids how to hate each other, how to dislike each other … it’s pretty much what it’s all going to come down to,” said the father, Ty Smith.

“You going to deliberately teach kids, this white kid right here got it better than you because he white? You going to purposely tell a white kid, ‘Oh, the black people are all down and suppressed.’

“How do I have two medical degrees if I’m sitting here oppressed?” Smith continued.

A number of other prominent conservatives joined Cruz at the conference, which organizer Timothy Head explained is more crucial than ever given the far-left agenda of the Biden-Harris administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress.

“The Biden-Harris administration has already pursued a radical agenda that would be devastating to American citizens and to our culture at large,” he said Thursday.

“It is more important than ever for people of faith all across America to get organized and energized, and Road to Majority is the best place to start,” he added.
