(USA Features) Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene joined with Arizona Republicans Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs in pressing the Justice Department affirm and support the ongoing ballot audit in that state.
The four lawmakers sent a letter to Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pamela Karlan to ask her to allow Arizona to continue with an audit launched by state Senate Republicans of 2020 election ballots in Maricopa County, the state’s largest.

“No later than Thursday, May 20, please respond to this letter with a commitment to uphold the rule of law and allow Arizona to confirm the 2020 elections were free and fair,” the letter says.
The lawmakers went on to criticize Karlan for a letter that she had sent previously to Arizona state Senate President Karen Fann in which she said that the state lawmakers’ attempts to audit the results were akin to voter intimidation.
“We are confident in the integrity of the process and look forward to reviewing the results, no matter what is found,” the letter states.
“In a constitutional republic, the most important thing you can do is make sure the integrity of our election system is protected, free, transparent and open.”
