Pence Launching New Org With Conway, Kudlow Ahead of Potential 2024 Bid

Former Vice President Mike Pence has launched a new political advocacy group with former Trump administration officials that has led to increased speculation he is considering a 2024 presidential bid.

The organization, Advancing American Freedom, aims to promote the Trump-Pence administration’s achievements while also putting together a “winning formula for a broader coalition,” officials told the Washington Examiner.

The new organization appears to have the backing of former President Donald Trump.

“It was the most successful first term in American history,” Trump told the out. “Nice to see Mike highlighting some of our many achievements!”

Pence and Trump reportedly had a rocky relationship for a time following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots and the former vice president’s subsequent certification of the electoral college votes from states the former president’s legal team was contesting.

But now, with Trump backing Pence’s new organization, it appears as though they have patched their relationship.

“Advancing American Freedom plans to build on the success of the last four years by promoting traditional conservative values and promoting the successful policies of the Trump administration,” Pence, 61, said in a statement to the Examiner.

“Conservatives will not stand idly by as the radical left and the new administration attempt to threaten America’s standing as the greatest nation in the world with their destructive policies.”

The former VP had been keeping a lower profile in the months after leaving office.

However, in recent weeks, he has slowly reemerged, taking a position at the Heritage Foundation and writing op-eds to reengage with his and Trump’s voter base.

The new organization’s advisory board includes former Trump White House members Kellyanne Conway and Larry Kudlow, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and actor Kirk Cameron.

“I’ve worked alongside Mike Pence for 12 years in an official capacity but have known him for decades,” said Conway, who served as senior counselor to Trump for most of his term. “He has the heart of a servant and the mind of a policy wonk and through this issue advocacy group wants to ensure that the promise of America belongs to each and every one of us.”
