(USA Features) A new survey has found that President Donald Trump is trusted more than the U.S. media by nearly twice as much.
The in-depth survey by polling firm Morning Consult found that just 8 percent of respondents answered affirmatively to the question, ‘Do you trust the media to do the right thing?’
None of the various “brands” in the survey polled better than 50 percent, though “your primary doctor” did reach the 50-percent threshold.
The top five most trusted ‘brands’ were:
- Your primary doctor – 50 percent
- The military – 44 percent
- Amazon – 39 percent
- Google – 38 percent
- Extreme weather warnings – 36 percent
Twenty percent of those surveyed said they believe President Trump will “do the right thing,” which more than doubled the media’s performance.
Out of 20 brands, the bottom five were:
- Capitalism – 14 percent
- The news media – 8 percent
- The U.S. government – 7 percent
- Wall Street – 5 percent
- Hollywood – 4 percent
Actor Tom Hanks came in at 34 percent and daytime hostess and entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey came in at 27 percent. The only other name on the list — billionaire financier Warren Buffett — was at 16 percent.
No other politicians were on the survey list of brands, Breitbart News reported.
