Kellyanne Conway says Bloomberg ought to fire campaign staff after dismal first debate

Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway panned 2020 Democratic presidential contender Michael Bloomberg’s first debate appearance in Las Vegas Wednesday, implying his staff did not prepare him well.

Conway took to Twitter to voice her opinion about the billionaire media mogul’s performance in real time as he fought off attacks from other Democrats on the debate stage.

She insinuated that Bloomberg performed poorly and recommended he fire any staffers who tell him otherwise.

“Mike Bloomberg should fire two groups of people tonight: those who helped with debate prep and those who squeal ‘GREAT JOB!!’ as he exits the debate stage,” she .

Conway also retweeted several additional accounts that were critical of Bloomberg’s debate performance, including a tweet from the New York Times highlighting a moment in the debate when Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren blasted Bloomberg for his past comments on women.

“I’d like to talk about who we’re running against,” Warren said, “a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse-faced lesbians. And no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump; I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg.”

At a rally in Phoenix, President Trump commented on Bloomberg’s appearance as well.

The president took the stage after the opening moments of the Democratic debate and said the billionaire was getting “pounded.”

“I hear he’s getting pounded tonight. I hear they’re pounding him,” Trump said. “I think he spent all this money, he has maybe 15 points.”
