President Donald Trump on Wednesday shared a tweet from conservative talk radio host Mark Levin in which he called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) a “barely literate moron” over comments she made about billionaires.
“No one ever makes a billion dollars. You take a billion dollars,” Ocasio-Cortez, a self-admitted democratic socialist, said during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day discussion with author Ta-Nehisi Coates on Monday.
“You made that money off the backs of undocumented people,” she said. “You made that money off the backs of black and brown people being paid under a living wage. You made that money off the backs of single mothers and all these people who are literally dying because they can’t afford to live.”
Levin blasted the freshman New York lawmaker, who has often criticized wealthy earners.
“AOC is such an embarrassing, barely literate moron,” the radio host wrote late Tuesday, in which he linked to a Fox Business article about her remarks.

The president retweeted Levin’s comments, along with several others he made.
A year ago during an MLK event in Harlem, the congresswoman slammed capitalism claiming it allows individuals to accumulate wealth and become billionaires in a way that is “immoral.”
“I do think that a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong,” she said at the time.
